Dear friends, burners & co-creators – welcome to a community building evening!
President Franklin D. Roosevelt would not travel on the 13th day of any month and would never host 13 guests at a meal. Napoleon and President Herbert Hoover were also triskaidekaphobic, with an abnormal fear of the number 13. The becoming Friday 13 is where the burner community steps in!
The aim is to seek what the community dreams and wishes to do, co-create and so on. What is meant by community, a communita, and why it might be important? The powerful experience of communitas at Burning Man is a deeply emotional one, leaving emotional imprints which become a lasting part of lifeworlds and the building blocks of collective identity and community. Communitas is also accompanied by a realization that participants belong to the countercultural aesthetic, and with this realization the seeds of collective identity begin to grow. Indeed there is a strong desire which extends beyond Burning Man as participants who have undergone these personal transformations seek to turn them into social transformation by mobilizing social networks and creating communities around countercultural moral practices. (McCaffrey, 2012)¹
The evening consists of brief presentations, a community building workshop and a co-created evening get-together. The event is hosted in a brand new space called Jedi Training Center located in A Grid, Otaniemi.
If you wish, the communita can have Christmas or any other type of pagan party after 8:30PM, but this is where you, the beloved participants step in! Feel free to suggest activities, start a co-created bar (the space has 2 x bar desks and possibly a fridge) or use your creative potential as you wish 
Space is limited to 70 participants.
